What Is a Magnetic Sweeper?

A Magnetic Sweeper is a tool used for searching, picking up, and cleaning iron-based items from the ground, primarily designed to attract and collect debris such as nails, screws, rivets, nuts, studs, iron filings, metal sheet fragments, and metal shavings. It is also known as a Magnetic Broom. It does this by using magnets or creating a strong magnetic field to attract and collect these metal objects, usually collecting them at the base of the tool.

Design Features

It typically includes a push handle, two rollers, and several ferrite magnets, for easy movement and control on the ground.

The main structure consists of a rectangular box-shaped body.

The powerful ferrite magnets are its key components, combined with other accessories.

The ferrite magnets are installed inside the box body and feature a movable upward-lifting structure.

The upper surface of the box body is equipped with a magnet lifting handle, along with either a control lever handle or a pull rod to operate the magnetic release function.

Its shell is made of aluminum alloy.

It contains a built-in automatic spring.

It features super-strong magnetic force, enabling easy pickup of various iron debris.

To facilitate the dumping of collected metal fragments, Equipped with a magnetic release function. For example, a puller can be designed on the handle, or a laminate layer can be set under the magnet. When the magnet is pulled up, metal fragments will fall off due to the presence of the laminate.

Working Principle

• The magnetic floor sweeper operates through magnetism generated by powerful magnets.

During use, the magnets are positioned close to the iron-collecting plate at the bottom of the bottom of the box body. This creates magnetism at the bottom, allowing small metallic components to be adsorbed onto the plate or box bottom.

• To release collected ferromagnetic materials, users can operate the lifting handle, control lever, or pull rod.

• The specific operation involves pulling the lifting handle or pulling the rod upward. This action moves the magnets upward, causing them to move away from the iron-collecting plate or box bottom.

• When the magnets are distanced from the plate, the magnetism weakens or disappears, and the adsorbed metal components automatically detach.

• This design enables quick and convenient separation and cleaning operations, also referred to as automatic iron discharge or automatic detachment of adsorbed metal debris.

Using a magnetic sweeper for cleaning is a quick, easy, safe, and time-saving method. It can collect iron filings faster and more effectively than a traditional broom. The magnetic sweeper is widely used in auto repair shops, workplaces, walkways, factory floors, roads, and airport runways to remove ground-level ferromagnetic debris. Its simple operation and rapid effectiveness significantly improve work efficiency. By collecting metal objects scattered on the floor, magnetic sweepers help reduce the risk of workplace accidents, such as the danger of workers stepping on or being stabbed by sharp metal, and protect equipment such as tires from damage.
